The Society is very lucky to have an extensive selection of library books in Treetops, which includes maps, directories and general research books. There is a large collection of Dorset books covering towns, villages, occupations, churches, Dorset Year Books, Dorset families and much more! Another section relates to Military history, both for Dorset and Worldwide plus information on many different wars and battles. Finally we also hold a varied collection of books relating London and other counties.
Members are welcome to borrow most of these books, (some are for “Reference Only” and cannot leave the office). We ask that you do not take books and keep them for more than 3 weeks as, just like any public library, the books need to be available for other members to borrow.

If you are visiting Treetops Research Centre you are welcome to browse the library without paying the admission fee of £5 per day. However, if you cannot visit in person and wish to receive information from a particular publication please contact research@dorsetfhs.org.uk
