DESCRIPTION:Following the FTM Tour and presentation in April – we are pleased to re-introduce the Family Tree Maker User group discussions\, as part of our computer group sessions.   If you are a FTM user – join our online discussion to share your knowledge or pick up hints and tips about using the software.  Mark Olsen from FTM will join this zoom call from the US to add his advice.  \n\n\n\nMembers who receive e-news will automatically get the zoom login details\, a few days before the event.  Members who do not receive e-news can find a copy in the member area of the website.  Or can contact us via our website (use liaison from the drop down list) to request login details.  Non members are also welcome to attend and should also contact us for login details via our website.   Please ensure your requests are received at least 6 hours prior to the zoom meeting start time.   \n\n\n\nThe £3 meeting attendance fee can be made via our online shop after the session.

DESCRIPTION:We’re pleased that Steve Roberts is returning to give us a talk on the many Blue Plaques of Bournemouth. \n\n\n\nA Blue Plaque is a permanent sign installed in a public place to commemorate a link between that location and a famous person\, event or former building on that site \, serving as a historical marker. The official scheme was originally administered by English Heritage and was launched in 1866 in London\, on the initiative of the politician William Ewart to mark the homes and workplaces of famous people.Previously Steve have delighted us with talks on various subjects including\, Jack the Ripper\, Mr Selfridge\, Dad’s Army and When Dorset made History.

SUMMARY:Hidden in Clear Sight – reminders of WW2 in the New Forest by Marc Heighway - a Zoom meeting
DESCRIPTION:Marc loves living in the New Forest and most weeks can be found talking and giving guided walks to various groups and schools about this fascinating area.Involved with two local history societies\, in 2021\, Marc formed the New Forest & Hampshire Wartime Association\, a group of volunteers dedicated to raising awareness of Second World War history in the New Forest. As part of this\, he hosts talks to raise funds for the upkeep and regeneration of East Boldre village hall\, the last surviving building from a former First World War airfield. \n\n\n\nSociety Members who have consented to receive information by e-mail will find a meeting invitation link in the latest E-News\, usually sent a few days before each meeting. If that has not been received\, it is also available in the password protected Members’ Area. \n\n\n\nThose who do not receive E-News\, or who are not Society Members\, are welcome to join this meeting and should use this link and select the Liaison option to message us with a request for an invitation link. This request should reach us at least 6 hours before the meeting is due to start\, and the link will be sent about 2 hours before the meeting starts. \n\n\n\nThere is a charge of £3.00 per person\, payable at this link.
