SUMMARY:Deserters of the First World War – The Home Front by Andrea Hetherington - a Zoom meeting
DESCRIPTION:Andrea Hetherington is a professional historian\, writer and researcher with a passion for the past who writes captivating books and regularly delivers engaging talks across the UK and internationally on a range of historical topics. \n\n\n\nWhen thinking about First World War deserters\, most people bring to mind those who were shot at dawn and pardoned nearly 100 years later\, but these were a tiny minority of those who deserted the armed forces during WW1. \n\n\n\nThis talk looks at the much bigger picture. \n\n\n\nSociety Members who have consented to receive information by e-mail will find a meeting invitation link in the latest E-News. If that has not been received\, it is also available in the password protected Members’ Area. \n\n\n\nThose who do not receive E-News\, or who are not Society Members\, are welcome to join this meeting and should use this link and select the Liaison option to message us with a request for an invitation link. This request should reach us at least 6 hours before the meeting is due to start\, and the link will be sent about 2 hours before the meeting starts. \n\n\n\nThere is a charge of £3.00 per person\, payable at this link.
