SUMMARY:Hands across the Ocean – True stories of Emigration\, Tragedy and Heroes by Helen Baggott - Zoom meeting
DESCRIPTION:We welcome back Helen Baggott who has previously given the talk on Posted in the Past. \n\n\n\nHelen has written for regional magazines\, national magazines including This England\, Discover your Ancestors\, Who Do You Think you Are?\, Picture Postcard Monthly and Dorset Life. Her work has been recognised by national newspapers as a “postcard detective” and an “heirloom detective”. \n\n\n\nBeginning with postcards sent more than a hundred years ago\, this new talk shares the true stories of determined people who sought new lives abroad and those that built some of the shipping lines that we recognise today\, including a family connected with the bravery of the Kindertransport. \n\n\n\nSociety Members who have consented to receive information by e-mail will find a meeting invitation link in the latest E-News. If that has not been received\, it is also available in the password protected Members’ Area. \n\n\n\nThose who do not receive E-News\, or who are not Society Members\, are welcome to join this meeting and should use this link and select the Liaison option to message us with a request for an invitation link. This request should reach us at least 6 hours before the meeting is due to start\, and the link will be sent about 2 hours before the meeting starts. \n\n\n\nThere is a charge of £3.00 per person\, payable at this link.
